Stream of Annihilation

Thursday, June 1, 2017 - 11:52

If you haven't heard of it, the Stream of Annihilation is an intense line up of back to back D&D streaming for all of Friday and Saturday.

Intense, eh?  Looks like it should be a sweet line up and I'll be sure to catch Mike Mearls episode on YouTube.  I legitamitely enjoy watching him work; contrastly Chris Perkins annoys me because I'm ridiculously jealous of him.  Mearls I feel a reverance towards, but Perkins I want to outdo.

We allegedly have a stream happening...

Getting grumpy.

Saturday, May 20, 2017 - 11:56

Now that there's a camera in my face, I'm getting stressed.  When they're above you, or behind you, it's one thing.  Not so personal.  When it's up your nose and everything you do makes you look like an Ace Attorney reject, it's a wierd thing to see on the monitor.

I think primarily, I gotta cover those fucking leds, they bug the shit out of me.

Good lawd.

I never consider the sense that people get when they walk into my garage and see a D&D studio, and see cameras, and then they're on the internet, and the world sees...

Purposely Overpowered

Thursday, May 18, 2017 - 08:04

Last nights game had a boss battle with a magic user by the name of Lister.  He had a wand of fireball.  He initially had the spell of fireball, but I keep forgetting it's a level three spell, and not a spell that a level three mage can cast.

The boss is a documented aspect of gameplay known as the 'Wake-up Call'.

He also had a wall of force to protect his bar, a ring of resistance and a vested interest in the great race.  Seems like a lot for a third level magic user?...

A scene from "The Ogre"
B

eing a DM is fun and hard.  Not a euphemism for the DM, settle down.

When Dorian first showed up, I was personally choked; in attempting to operate a serious campaign and having everyone start on such a strong foot, soon enough the shenanigans that befall my Friday group took hold once again.  I wasn't terribly pleased.

Inter party conflict leads to PvP leads to bruised egos and ultimately 'revenge characters.'
The saving grace here is that the character brought forth is not committing meta-assault, or is even a 'revenge' character, that is, the character...

We did a role playing

Monday, May 8, 2017 - 18:00

We had a session with a remote player and it was good.

A two man game may seem like a weak start, but it's a good way to warm yourself up to a new concept.

Technical difficulties aside, I think it went over well, I've just got to figure out how to curtail my Linux handicap.

In other news, I'm adjusting the camera arrangement, yet again:)

Stay tuned; see you Wednesday!

Viewers Games

Sunday, April 30, 2017 - 18:30

So we're doing viewer games.

Trying to.

Sundays at 5pm - 8pm PST.

No Unearthed Arcana. Yeah, lame, I know.

Be in the stream with a copy of Skype configured, a 1st level character, a webcam and a mic.

Characters may be of any published race, no Volo's (sorry).

Rolling Stats: 4d6 drop, make 3 sets, pick the best set. Yeah, we play high power stuff around here.

Take max hit dice, hitpoints; every level.

World is my airships, motes, etc; get creative with your history. Liberties are granted for good stuff.

Read the wiki for...

Drunken Master is now a thing

Saturday, April 8, 2017 - 23:43

Monk is my favourite class that I never play.

I typically play fighter, or ranger, sometimes thief, rarely wizard, occasionally cleric. More often then wizard, but not as often as rogue.

If I get the opportunity to play, I want to be awesome, super powered amazingness. I don't have time to fuck around with 'character development' or morales and other pieces of RP gameplay that I adore. It's all about the viscera when I get my moment on the players side.

With the latest Unearthed Arcana a new opportunity for role play ridiculousness rears, and I'm excited to see them...

D&D Beyond is in beta 1

Monday, March 20, 2017 - 08:55

For the third time now, Wizards has teamed up with a software developer to provide their fans with the tools to develop their D&D games and beyond. Shoehorned slogans aside, the first beta opened up today and so far, I like it. It's nothing that you can't get elsewhere but it is a nicely packaged SRD with a mobile layout and Wizards/Twitch sponsorship.

If you haven't checked out some of the other tools out there, you can look up https://arcana.io/ and see how they compare.

So last session was excellent once again, although players always have something to complain about.

The easiest sessions to design on the fly are the travelling scenarios the players encounter and I do so love building these out door sets.

At current, the party is venturing back to Royals Peak, the capital of the...

Let'em fight

Saturday, March 4, 2017 - 15:04

Initial thoughts regarding the game?

It's 12:30am, you're drunk, you feel good about the game but you're trying to close it down, and that's when it strikes.

For fucks sake. Now. Fucking, now. It's ...now? Why not now.

Now that that's out of the way, I would've, could've, should've.

Should've had dwarves in the wreckage fighting for their lives, despite Prissmahl's presence (yeah, that's how his name's actually spelt).

Should've provided the characters with a fast travel back to town.

Should've expected fuckery.

Most importantly, I...
