Oshitzu Clan

The Oshitzu Clan is an ancient and wealthy mercantile dynasty of amphibious catfish/halfling humanoids native to the Farsea Swamps. Known for their martial prowess, razor-sharp commercial monopolies, and flamboyant courtly culture, the clan is famously described in local lore as "Zatoichi meets Austin Powers."

Physiology & Aesthetic

Appearance: Standing roughly four to five feet tall, members of the Oshitzu clan possess sleek, amphibious skin, prominent sensory barbels (whiskers) which are meticulously oiled and styled, and wide, expressive eyes.
Culture & Dress: They combine the strict martial codes, lacquered lamellar armor, and katana mastery of feudal samurai with the vibrant fashion, lavish culinary banquets, and high-stakes family cartel politics reminiscent of modern trade conglomerates.

Clan Hierarchy & Notable Figures

Master / Lord Oshitzu: The patriarchal clan elder and master merchant who oversees the dynasty’s swamp monopolies. He remains intensely curious about the political maneuvers of his half-giant son-in-law, Vindvenford.
Vindvenford (Lord by Marriage): The towering half-cloud giant who married into the clan, elevated to clan nobility and defender of the estate.
The Wives (Mitzy, Bitzy, Nutty, Nancy, Vincy): High-ranking clan daughters wed to Vindvenford, forming the formidable domestic and administrative heart of Castle Shinszu.
Lilith: Personal clan attendant and senior retainer assigned to manage Vindvenford’s day-to-day affairs.
Catfish Hospitalers (Nuns): The monastic healing order of the Oshitzu. Clad in flowing robes and prayer sashes, these amphibious nuns specialize in swamp herbalism, burn poultices, bone-knitting muds, and trauma surgery. They famously saved Vindvenford after he collapsed at 1 HP with a crushed ribcage.

Territory & Military Power

The Oshitzu Clan operates out of Castle Shinszu, a heavily fortified water-castle surrounded by deep lantern-lit canals and submerged spiked palisades. Their amphibious infantry move silently through swamp waters, striking surface raiders with curved blades and shortbow volleys from submerged reeds.
