Fine Machinations is a mobile industrial repair and maintenance venture operating throughout the Farseas, founded and operated by Tyrdedrek Draco under backing from the Guild of Precision.

Purpose and Operations

In a swamp where industrial infrastructure is simultaneously vital and under constant threat — from the environment, from political actors, from the Black Tar, and from the general chaos of civil war — a competent mobile mechanic is worth a fortune. Fine Machinations fills this gap. Tyrdedrek Draco travels the Farseas offering repair and maintenance services for all things industrial and steam-driven: the pumps, the pressure cylinders, the methane infrastructure, the Irungarten-adjacent machinery, the various contraptions left behind or damaged by the conflicts of the previous three seasons.

Guild of Precision Backing

The Guild of Precision — the dwarf-heavy industrial guild that was foundational to the methane economy's early development — backs Fine Machinations as their commercial arm in the swamp. This gives Tyrdedrek access to parts, tools, and the GoP's considerable network of industrial contacts. In return, Fine Machinations serves as the GoP's eyes and ears in the current state of the Farseas' infrastructure, providing practical intelligence about what still works, what's damaged, and what's been seized by which faction.

The Draco Family Connection

Tyrdedrek is the latest of the The Draco Family to venture into the Farseas. The Dracos are travelers by nature, and the swamps have become too dangerous for the family's usual social visits — the reappearance of wyverns in the region has made aerial travel particularly hazardous. Tyrdedrek's commercial focus gives him a reason to be present that pure adventure-seeking no longer provides.
