Guild of Precision

The Guild of Precision (GoP) is a dwarf-heavy industrial guild that served as one of the foundational commercial engines of the Farseas' methane economy — and, inadvertently, one of the direct causes of the The Black Circle's existence.

Commercial Activity

The GoP's primary commercial activities in the Farseas era:

Sold methane-powered lamps to Cormyr and the broader market
Sold pressure-packed methane cylinders to power those lamps
Carted and portaled large methane cylinders to distant destinations via their logistics network

The methane that fueled all of this came from the Farseas — extracted through the Guild of Precision's relationships with House Kropus and processed through The Farfetcher Pumps.

The Unintended Consequence

Here is the Guild's most significant (and least advertised) contribution to Farseas history: the cost of magecraft transport for their methane cylinders was high enough that it created a market for smuggled methane at significantly lower prices. The smuggling industry that emerged to meet that demand eventually coalesced into the The Black Circle — the tar-ink portal operation that has since grown into Manshoon's political vehicle.

The Guild of Precision, by pricing their transportation services too expensively, created the conditions for one of the most significant criminal and political organizations in the current era.

Fine Machinations

The GoP backs Fine Machinations — Tyrdedrek Draco's mobile industrial mechanic venture in the Farseas — as their active commercial arm in the swamp. This gives them ongoing commercial presence and intelligence access in a region they no longer directly dominate.
