Marcellus Windham Foxmantle

Marcellus Windham Foxmantle was a Sembian merchant lord and patriarch of the House Foxmantle family in an earlier generation, credited with building much of the grain and textile empire that would eventually fund the founding of the Farseas enterprise.

Legacy

Head of Foxmantle Grains and architect of the Foxmantle commercial fleet, Marcellus was known as a sharp-minded man who derived great pleasure from hosting lavish gatherings — yet was curiously seldom seen at his own parties. Whether this was tactical eccentricity or a deeper inclination toward privacy, those who knew him could not agree.

The Foxmantle Foundation

The fortune Marcellus built in Sembian trade — bread, breakfast cereals, sail cloth, and a fleet that crossed the Sea of Fallen Stars — became the financial bedrock that allowed Carcenjo Foxmantle I to invest heavily in Hiren Kropus's Farseas venture. In this indirect sense, Marcellus's mercantile ambitions echo through the entire history of the swamp.
