End of the line

Too perfect

Friday saw the end of the Brightwood storyline, and the return to primary story, with Ivor attending a city council gathering.

Between Vane, Mactillian and Helbrims actions, we saw the final period to that tale put in place.

I have to say I'm pleased with the way it went. The combat wasn't especially over bearing, just doing what it needed to do.

Moving on I'm strongly looking forward to continuing the story of the West Cloud Spires expansion.

Next session we will see what the council has to say about the current affairs and as a side point, what Thunders organization is doing.

Tangled Webs

So the Brightwood story comes to a close, or does it? The boy, Juren Brightwood, has much to answer for and in due course I should think the great houses will seek a justice for the lives lost to "The Many."

The conundrum isn't so much what to do but how much time to devote to it.

I personally want to get back to the roots of D&D and those roots aren't nestled in the city, they're a distance away at the front lines of the road construction which is effectively on hiatus while the party is taffing around in the city.

I intend to clean up the web that has grown a bit tangled and straight a few lines out.

All in due course, some would say.

CoS Stories

The "Covenant of Silver Stories" as I call them are one off adventures meant to deliver a high octane adventure per session. Sundays will feature our players conducting themselves as high risk, high turn over, high mortality members of the organization.

I'm known for being a pretty soft DM typically, so the CoS Stories Sundays are my opportunity to be blunt and mean.

The CoS Stories Sundays are not meant to be a serial like the CloudSpires Chronicles. The CoS Stories are meant to be an episodic, disjointed nightmare of fast paced combat and ridiculous feats of prowess.

Basically every bent concept and idea that I've ever wanted to flesh out in D&D is going to find a home in the CoS Stories.

As the players characters gain levels, and die, they'll be replaced by new soldiers, members of the CoS prepared to die for the cause; that cause being purity of race, strength of the skies, and the crushing of their enemies. Perhaps hearing lamentations of women will be fit in there as well.

Time will tell.
