Cormyte is a term specifically popularized by King Azoun Obarskyr IV to to the peoples of Cormyr. It is used interchangeably with Cormyrian and Cormyrean.
Usage in the Farseas
While the Farseas and surrounding regions fall nominally within the Cormyrean empire's territorial claims, the swamp populations — Lizardpeoples, Bullywugs, Fishfolk, and generations of Drovers — largely do not identify as Cormyte subjects. The question of whether the swamp peoples owe allegiance to the Obarskyr crown or constitute a separate people within the kingdom is one of the central political tensions driving conflict in the Tunlands.
