The Geyser Parks

The Geyser Parks

The Geyser Parks are a network of methane geysers distributed across the Farseas — natural pressure releases where the methane deposits that attracted Hiren Kropus's initial interest vent directly from the swamp's underground geology. They are simultaneously a natural resource, a navigation hazard, and a testament to the swamp's geological activity.

Description

The Geyser Parks are not a single location but a distributed phenomenon: dozens of methane vents, some small and irregular, some large and predictable enough to be mapped and used. The larger geyser clusters have developed informal names based on their eruption patterns, local reputation, or the industrial history attached to them.

The Farfetcher Pumps were designed in part to manage the methane pressure from the Geyser Parks — channeling it into collection systems rather than allowing it to vent uncontrolled into the atmosphere where it creates fire hazards, suffocation zones, and navigation problems.

Commercial History

The Geyser Parks were the specific natural feature that gave Hiren Kropus his founding vision: the swamp was not just wilderness but a vast methane deposit waiting to be harvested. The Guild of Precision's lamp and cylinder business ran on Geyser Park methane, funneled through the pump network, compressed, and sold to Cormyrean cities.

Current Status

With the pump network repaired following the The Iron Garden arc, the Geyser Parks are operational again. In the civil war's chaos, however, maintaining the collection infrastructure near contested Geyser Park locations is increasingly difficult. Several Parks have been sabotaged, deliberately released, or weaponized by various Mirelord factions.
