One Eye

Stjorrayrm, the great mega gator known as One Eye was a gargantuan predatory force known and feared across the Farseas.

It was quelled when Vader Kropus managed to imprison the creatures eggs in the Kropus Vault, to be allowed to survive when One Eye passed.

The Final Battle

One Eye was not simply "quelled" and allowed to lapse into death — it was eventually brought down in a massive battle, one of the most significant single-creature conflicts in the recorded history of the Farseas. The vaulting of its eggs by Vader Kropus had kept the beast dormant, denying it the drive to reproduce that fueled its most destructive rampages, but One Eye was never truly tamed. After Vader's death and the resulting chaos in the Kropus family, the situation deteriorated until the creature had to be destroyed outright.

The Eggs: Three Prizes

One Eye laid three eggs before its death. Vader Kropus had secured them in the Kropus Vault as a measure of control over the beast. Following Lucien Kropus's death and the subsequent collapse of the Kropus empire, the eggs were removed from the vault — and their fates diverged.

At the time of the current era:

  • One egg was sold to an unknown buyer at auction, its current whereabouts unknown.
  • One egg remains at auction or in active contention among interested parties.
  • One egg was secured by a Cormyrean thieves' guild — either the Night Masks or the Fire Knives — as leverage or commodity.
  • One egg is described as "destined to vanish into the wild" — suggesting at least one hatchling may eventually emerge free of any faction's control.

The Eggs' Contested Future

The eggs of a godzilla-scaled crocodile represent different things to different powers:

The The Suh'Skel want the eggs as a kaiju-weapon — a hatchling raised and weaponized to serve as a living siege engine for their campaign to expel imperial influence from the Farseas. A fully grown One Eye descendant, trained to destroy rather than simply rampage, would be unprecedented.

The House Foxmantle want the eggs as a commodity and leverage. To the Foxmantle merchants, everything is capital. An egg of this provenance has extraordinary value on the open market — to collectors, to military powers, to those who believe they can control what hatches. Foxmantle fixer Drakkan Crowman has been active in maneuvering toward the eggs.

The conflict over the eggs' disposition is one of the most active and unresolved threads in the current era.
