Aromarr Osrin

Aromarr Osrin — formerly known as Whisper — is the son of Yorick Osrin and Rachel Foxmantle, and the great-grandson of Eleanor Osrin, founding matriarch of House Osrin. He was assassinated alongside his father by Carcenjo Foxmantle II, became a vengeful spirit called Whisper who walked the swamps for decades, and was ultimately resurrected from the Spirit Road by a group of adventurers. He is alive. He is flesh again. He is with his father in Sschindylryn.

Birth and Life

Aromarr was born in the intersection of two great houses: his father Yorick was the Osrin family sage, heir to Eleanor's legacy of scholarship and faith; his mother Rachel was the sister of Carcenjo Foxmantle II, the scion of the Foxmantle merchant empire. The circumstances of his birth — his parents not formally married, his existence unwelcome to his maternal uncle — marked him as a bastard in legal terms but not in the terms that mattered to those who loved him.

Assassination and Becoming Whisper

When Carcenjo II's resentment erupted into violence, Aromarr died alongside his father. His spirit, unable to rest, remained in the swamps and became known as Whisper: a vengeful presence that moved among the swamp's forgotten places, delivering cryptic prophecy and righteous fury in equal measure.

Whisper walked with Krusht, a half-orc clan leader, for sixty years before Aromarr finally moved on. The spirit delivered The Prophecy of the Farseas — a verse about harmony and balance in the swamp's depths. Dambastra's church feared it. The The Siv watched it carefully.

Resurrection

A group of adventurers found Aromarr's spirit on the Spirit Road — the ethereal travel network accessed through the Oghrann Gates — and walked him out of it. Extracting a spirit from the Road requires specific knowledge and the spiritual equivalent of refusing to take no for an answer.

Whisper is gone. Aromarr is flesh again.

He was brought to Sschindylryn, the drow city in the north Underdark where his father had been hiding, and father and son were reunited for the first time since their supposed shared death.

Current Status

Aromarr lives in Sschindylryn with Yorick Osrin, sheltered by the Siv lord Shiawass within the complex politics of the drow city. Chanteclair Osrin, the current head of House Osrin, knows nothing of any of this.
