Yorick Osrin

Yorick Osrin is the son of Warwick Osrin and the grandson of Eleanor Osrin — the founding matriarch of House Osrin. In the years before the current civil war, he was the family sage, teacher, and one of the most trusted friends Vader Kropus ever had. He was believed dead, assassinated alongside his son Aromarr Osrin by Carcenjo Foxmantle II in an act of furious, misguided vengeance.

He is not dead. He is hiding.

Background

Yorick came of age watching his father Warwick Osrin gradually come undone in the aftermath of the Thayan soul-splintering ritual. This shaped him: Yorick became, above all things, a keeper of knowledge and a cultivator of relationships. He knew that the great machinery of the Farseas ran not on methane but on trust — and trust required memory, context, and patience.

As the Osrin family sage, Yorick maintained the institutional knowledge that kept House Osrin functional across generations. He corresponded with Cormyrean scholars, preserved the family's alchemical and theological records, and served as the quiet diplomat who kept Osrin interests aligned with Kropus interests during the turbulent years of Lucien Kropus' rule.

His friendship with Vader Kropus was one of the Farseas' most important political relationships. Vader once described Yorick as "the only man I know who can tell me I'm wrong and make me glad he did."

Rachel Foxmantle

Yorick's concubine was Rachel Foxmantle, the sister of Carcenjo Foxmantle II. Their relationship was not a political alliance but something quieter — a genuine bond between two people caught in the machinery of their families' ambitions. Rachel bore Yorick a son, Aromarr Osrin, who grew up between the Foxmantle and Osrin worlds. The arrangement was something Carcenjo II never accepted.

Assassination and Survival

When Carcenjo II's resentment finally broke into violence, he struck with the certainty of a man who believed he was avenging a dishonour. He murdered both Yorick and Aromarr — or so he believed.

Yorick survived. He is alive in hiding in Sschindylryn — a drow city in the north Underdark — sheltered by the Siv lord Shiawass and the complex politics of that city's power structure. Chanteclair Osrin, the current head of House Osrin, does not know he lives.

Reunion with Aromarr

When adventurers resurrected Aromarr Osrin from the Spirit Road and brought him to Sschindylryn, Yorick was reunited with the son he had believed lost. They remain in the Underdark. What Yorick intends to do about Carcenjo Foxmantle II, about Chanteclair Osrin's ignorance, about the Osrin court infiltration programme — these are questions whose answers have not yet surfaced.
