Carcenjo Foxmantle II
Carcenjo Foxmantle II

Carcenjo Foxmantle II is the half-elven only son and heir of Carcenjo Foxmantle I, current patriarch of House Foxmantle, and one of the most dangerous old men in the Farseas. He is old, heirless, bitterly fixated on recovering his family's methane interests despite Cormyrean law prohibiting extraterritorial claims — and he has recently made himself the enemy of a group of adventurers who freed the mayor he was torturing.
Character & Dockside Empire
The Foxmantle family "isn't bloodthirsty, but they have some shitty luck at sea and are quick to get into racist fights which historically thins their numbers." Carcenjo II embodies both tendencies. He has four sisters, of whom the most consequential was Rachel Foxmantle. He has no children and no heir. He commands a commercial shipping empire across Cormyr and Sembia, a cliff fortress called Slymount, a tiefling fixer named Drakkhen Crowman, and a diminishing window in which to act.
In a bid to legally outflank Cormyrean restrictions on the Kropus methane estate, Carcenjo II tracked down Hiren Kropus's bastard son Thorn, welcoming him at the docks and bankrolling him with a Foxmantle Letter of Credit — only for Thorn to burn through his gold at Pollo's Potions and slip his handlers.

Murder of Yorick and Aromarr Osrin
The act that defines Carcenjo II is simple to describe and impossible to undo: he ordered the murder of Yorick Osrin and Aromarr Osrin to avenge what he characterized as the defilement of his sister Rachel Foxmantle — who had chosen, entirely of her own will, to be Yorick's partner and the mother of his son. Rachel walked out the tower window the moment Carcenjo told her what he had done.
What Carcenjo does not know is that Yorick Osrin survived and is hiding in Sschindylryn under the protection of the Siv lord Shiawass.
Slymount and Mayor Wreth
From Slymount — his fortress on the rocky cliffside road between Threetrees and Elden's Crossing — Carcenjo trapped and tortured Mayor Wreth of Elden's Crossing to force his signature on illegal methane claims. Adventurers arrived via an old Thayan portal pad in Carcenjo's office, discovered Wreth in Slymount, and freed him.
