No Heroes

No Heroes

No Heroes is the fourth and current seasonal arc of the The Farsea Chronicles, set at Elden's Crossing in the northwest Farseas. It begins at player level 5 and is themed around settlement-building, civil war survival, and the question of what heroism even means in a region where every powerful faction is compromised.

Premise

The civil war sparked by the death of Lucien Kropus — the "Kropus vacuum" — has fully erupted. Cormyr wants the swamp's refined fluids and magically charged fauna. Six rising warlords known as the Mirelords are carving fiefdoms from the chaos. Nobody with power is clean. The players' job is to build something — a town, a coalition, an idea of what the Farseas could be — amid all of it.

Theme song: "Small Change Hero" by The Heavy (first three minutes).

Setting: Elden's Crossing

Elden's Crossing is a burgeoning city on the Hollowmere River in the northwest Farseas, fighting for independence from Cormyr. It serves as the players' primary base: a place to build, to invest, to defend, and to lose. The newest district — the western end — is submerged. Its records, including the land treaties Erdrick Aris died negotiating, had to be physically exhumed by the players to protect Aris claims from Cormyrean legal absorption.

A parallel campaign strand has players working as contractors for various Mirelords — giving multiple simultaneous factional entry points and allowing the civil war to feel genuinely complex rather than binary.
